Akagi

Two ships of the Japanese Navy have been named Akagi. The name Akagi means "Red Castle" which refers to a volcano in the Kanto area.

• The first Akagi was a gunboat of the Sino-Japanese War.

• The second Akagi was an aircraft carrier during World War II.
