André Chénier is a French opera by Umberto Giordano. The libretto was written by Luigi Illica based on the life of the French poet André Chénier (1762-1794). It was first performed in Milan in 1896.
André Chénier is part of the standard operatic repertoire, although it less frequently perfomed than in the first half of the 20th century. There are a several recordings of it.
