Archbishop Stanislaw Dziwisz currently serves Pope John Paul II as His Holiness' private secretary.
Dziwisz serves as almost a PR representative to the Pope, issuing many statements from the Vatican, and occasionally clarifying situations, like in the case of The Passion. When His Holiness was quoted as saying "It is as it was.", suggesting he alarmingly supported the controversial Mel Gibson movie, Dziwisz stated for the press that "The Holy Father has told no one of his opinion of this film."
