Aristaeus
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

A minor god in Greek mythology, Aristaeus was made immortal by Gaia. He was sometimes said to be a son of Uranus, but usually of Apollo with Cyrene. He became the patron god of cattle, fruit trees, hunting, husbandry and bee-keeping. He was also a culture-hero and taught humanity dairy skills and the use of nets and traps in hunting, as well as how to cultivate olives.

Aristaeus was chasing Eurydice when she was bitten by a snake and died.

Aristaeus of Marmora was an Alexandrian Jew of the second or third century BC.
