Armoured fighting vehicle

An armoured fighting vehicle (AFV) is a military vehicle, equipped with protection against hostile attacks and often mounted weapons. Most AFVs are equipped for driving in rugged terrain.

Types of AFVs

• Main Battle Tank (MBT)
• Armoured personnel carrier (APC)
• Infantry fighting vehicle (IFV)
• Assault gun
• Anti-tank vehicle
• Armored car
• Self-propelled artillery
• Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS)
• Anti-aircraft vehicle
• Combat engineering vehicle (CEV)

A technical is a type of unarmored fighting vehicle. A tachanka is a horse-driven unarmored fighting vehicle.
