Árpád
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Árpád high prince (fejedelem) was the son of Álmos, and ruled the Hungarian area between 895 and 900.

He was the founder of Hungary, the leader of the Magyar tribes who occupied the Carpathian basin in 896, following the Huns by the same route they used to enter Europe from the Urals.

He was also the first ruler of the settled Magyars, holding the first parliamentary session with 40 other nobles on horseback before 900 AD.

His children were Tarhos (Tarkacsu), Üllő (Jeleg), Jutas (Jutocsa), an unknown child and Zolta (Zaltasz).
