The municipality Asker in the county of Akershus, Norway, covers 101km2 and has 50 280 inhabitants as of January 1, 2003.
Main villages are Asker, Vollen, Dikemark, Holmen and Blakstad. The district is known for being the place of many important factories.Asker includes many hills in north and west, and is also a notably coastal place.The farm Skaugum, in which the norwegian crown prince and his family live, is situated here.
