The Athlon 64 FX is a 64-bit high-end processor being released from AMD. It is a competitor to the Intel Pentium 4 3.2Ghz Extreme Edition. It features 1024kb of Level 2 cache apart from the 256kb and 512kb of previous versions, a 128-bit memory controller unlike the 64-bit controller of previous versions, and runs at 2.2Ghz. It, like the other processors, features HyperTransport, which allows the system bus to run at faster speeds.
AMD is planning to release the Athlon 64 FX-53, which has a faster 2.4Ghz than the FX-51
