Baba Booey is the nickname of the producer of the Howard Stern radio show, Gary Dell'Abate. The nickname originated on Stern's show when Gary was telling the story of his prized collection of Quick Draw McGraw animation cels, and mispronounced "Baba Louie," the name of McGraw's sidekick. As typical on the show, the rest of the cast "goofed" on his mistake. Dell'Abate said something to the effect that they would forget this name the next day, yet many years have passed since this point.
The phrase has become synonymous with the Howard Stern show, and is often used as a tag for crank calls to live network TV broadcasts, for example during the OJ Simpson low-speed chase, to signal the host that they have been fooled.
