The
Barony of Digby of Geashill was created in 1620 in the
Peerage of Ireland. The seventh Baron was created an Earl and granted the
Barony of Digby of Sherborne in
1765. The earldom became extinct upon the death of his son, but the two baronies passed together to a cousin.
