Ethridge was born in Birmingham, Alabama He was raised in Pensacola, Florida where he attended Woodham High School (1974-1978). Ethridge received his electronics degree from United Electronics Institute in Tampa, Florida at which time Ethridge worked for Westinghouse Nuclear Systems, pressurised water reactor division .
Ethridge worked for 18 years in the position of Senior Staff Engineer for Marconi Communications, Access Systems North America (formerly RELTEC), Strategic Technology Group Irving, Texas . Ethridge holds several service awards from Marconi. 1998, 1999 Marketing Awards as well as the only Engineer awarded membership in the corporations distinguished Presidents Club.
Ethridge was diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson's Disease before the age of 40. Ethridge lives with his wife and son in Fort Worth, Texas . Ethridge like many other Parkinson's sufferers awaits a cure for this degenerative disease. Ethridge maintains a website at External Link: Barry Ethridge
