In J. R. R. Tolkien's fictional universe of Middle-earth, Belegost was one of two Dwarven cities in the Ered Luin.
Belegost lay in the southern part of the mountain range, and was home to the Dwarven House known as the Broadbeams. Its name in Khuzdul was Gabilgathol of unknown meaning. Belegost translates as "Great Fortress",
The Dwarves of Belegost were friends to the Sindar and later also the Noldor of Beleriand.
Unlike Nogrod to the north, it remained after the War of Wrath, although it appears to have been at least partially ruined. Its name in Westron was Mickleburg.
