Beveren is a municipality located in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the towns of Beveren proper, Doel, Haasdonk, Kallo, Kieldrecht, Melsele, Verrebroek and Vrasene. On January 1st, 2000 Beveren had a total population of 44,977 (22,456 males and 22,521 females). The total area is 153.61 km² which gives a population density of 292.80 inhabitants per km².
