Biennial flight review
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

The Biennial Flight Review (usually abbreviated BFR) is a test required for every active pilot in the United States at least every two years. The examination consists of an in-flight review with a qualified instructor.

Failure to achieve or successfully complete this review will lead to the suspension of pilot privledges until completed. Long-time inactive pilots must complete this review to the satisfaction of the instructor before resuming solo or passenger carrying flight status.
