Bitpop is a type of electronic music, where at least part of the music is made using old 8 bit computers of game consoles. Popular choices are the Commodore 64 and GameBoy. A major publisher of bitpop is Bleepstreet Records. Examples of band in the genre is Welle: Erdball, Machinae Supremacy, Pluxus, Puss, Slagsmålsklubben, Monster & Maskiner, 1987, Goto80, Covox, Pontonius, and Slagsmålsklubben.

Related to bitpop are groups that write chip music such as YM Rockerz, AY Riders, and 1000 Needles.
