Blackburn is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, named after Blackburn in England. It lies within the City of Whitehorse, Victoria in Melbourne's eastern suburbs. Blackburn is somewhat unique in that a large part of the suburb - known as the Bellbird area - is covered by a herritage listing. This has limited development in a large part of the suburb, meaning it has been able to retain a rural feel, dispite only being a short train ride from downtown Melbourne.
The major shopping hub of Box Hill is only 2 train stops away, while 3 busses connect Blackburn to Forest Hill. It shares a postcode with Blackburn North and Blackburn South
