Board of Ordnance
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

The British Board of Ordnance was incorporated into the War Office in 1855, prior to which time it had it's headquarters in the Tower of London.

The Board was responsible for the design, testing and production of armaments and munitions.

It was incorporated into the War Office as the Department of the Master-General of the Ordnance (is this correct?)
