Bohdan Paczyński (born February 8 1940 in Wilno) is a Polish astronomer, leading scientist in theory of the evolution of stars.
Educated at the Warsaw University, after his initial career in Poland in 1981 he moved to the US. He is a professor of Astrophysics at Princeton University. His new methods of discovering cosmic objects and measuring their mass by the lenticular gravitation gained him international recognition.
His research concentrates on:
- gravitational lensing and gravitational microlensing
- variable stars
- gamma-ray bursts
- galactic structure
