The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (BATFE) is the portion of the former Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (BATF) moved into the Department of Justice from the Department of the Treasury by the Homeland Security Act of 2002.
