Cao Yu

Cao Yu is a Chinese dramatist, often regarded as China's most important in the twentieth century. It is largely through the efforts of Cao Yu that the modern Chinese huaju ("spoken theatre", as opposed to sung opera) took root in twentieth-century Chinese literature.
