Catherine O'Hara (born March 4, 1954 in Toronto, Ontario) is a Canadian actress and comedian. She is well known for her movie roles as Delia Deitz in Beetlejuice (1988) and Kate McCallister in Home Alone (1990).
She started her acting career in 1974 as a cast member of Second City Television (SCTV), distinguishing herself for the impersonations she portrayed. In 1976, she began writing sketches for the show. In the later 1970s, she did various voice-overs for a number of cartoons, which would continue throughout her career.
In her personal life, she married Bo Welch in 1992. They have two sons, born in 1994 and 1997.
