The Chess Chronicle was the world's first chess magazine. It was founded and edited by Howard Staunton.
Published by the Polytechnic press, The Chess Chronicle was a 40 page magazine devotedly entirely to chess. It contained correspondence, challenges, anecdotes and problems from the world of chess. It also include both played and theoretical games.
