Constitutional Convention is a gathering of persons for the purpose of drawing up a
constitution, or planning to modify one. In
British constitutional law the "Convention Parliament" of the late
Stuart era may perhaps be considered one of these. Canada also had a constitutional convention attended to by the
Fathers of Confederation. Until 1997, the
National Assembly of the Republic of China served as a continuously standing constitutional convention.
