Courtrai (Kortrijk in Dutch) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of West Flanders. The municipality comprises the city of Courtrai proper and the towns of Aalbeke, Bellegem, Bissegem, Heule, Kooigem, Marke and Rollegem. On January 1st, 2000 Courtrai had a total population of 74,790 (36,537 males and 38,253 females). The total area is 80.80 km² which gives a population density of 925.62 inhabitants per km².
