The CUNY Graduate Center is located at 365 Fifth Avenue between 34th and 35th streets in the former B. Altman department store. The Graduate Center is the doctorate granting institution of the City University of New York, and apart from very small masters and bachelors programs, all 4000 students at the GC are doctoral students.
The GC sponsors numerous Continuing Education programs, all open to the public, including regular lectures from world-renouned scholars, politicians and artists.
