Cyclocross
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Cyclocross is a version of cycling usually participated in by roadies over the fall and winter months. The equipment is a heavy duty road bike equipped with cantilevered or other mountain bike style brakes, heavy duty rims and nobbed tires (or tyres for those of you in the UK.)

The course is over grass and smooth dirt trails with obstacles set up requiring the rider to dismount, jump the barrier and then remount on the fly. Some riders will bunny hop the smaller barriers.

It is great, lung-burning, fun on cold days.
