Decision Support Systems are a class of computerized information systems that support decision-making activities. According to a classification by D. Power, there are five main classes of DSS: Communications-Driven, Data-Driven, Document-Driven, Knowledge-Driven, Model-Driven. These can be further divided by three secondary dimensions: Inter-Organizational vs. Intra-Organizational; Function-Specific vs. General-Purpose, and Web-Based.
