Division (logical fallacy)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

The logical fallacy of division ascribes properties of a whole thing to its parts. Below are two examples of this:

  1. This chemical compound is green, therefore all of its atoms are green.
  2. America has a high per capita income, therefore everyone there is rich.
