Dorothy Gale is the lead character in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and many of its sequels. An orphan raised by her aunt and uncle in the gray, featureless landscape of a windswept Kansas farm, she longs for a more colorful and exciting life. Like Alice, she enters a lively dream world filled with interesting talking creatures.
