Dosso Dossi (c.1490 - 1542)[1], real name Giovanni di Niccolò de Luteri, was an Italian High Renaissance painter and founder of the Ferrara school. He held the position of principal court artist to dukes Alphonso I and Ercole II for 30 years. Dosso worked with his brother Battista Dossi frequently.
