Eadgyth or Edith was the daughter of Edward the Elder, King of England, born 869, and AElflaeda.
Edith's grandfather was Alfred the Great, King of the West Saxons (or King of Wessex).
In 929, Edith and the future Otto I the Great of the Holy Roman Empire were married.
