Exon
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

In genetics, exons are the regions of a transcribed gene that are not spliced out and which are retained in the final mRNA molecule as part of the protein-coding region. See also intron, the sections of RNA that are spliced out.

Exon trapping is a clever molecular biology technique that exploits the existence of the intron-exon architecture to find new genes.
