Fibrinolytic
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

The fibrinolytics are a class of pharmaceuticals that act as thrombolytics by activating plasminogen to form plasmin. Activated plasmin degrades fibrin and so breaks up thrombi. The fibrinolytics are used in thrombolytic therapy of myocardial infarct and pulmonary embolisation.

The most important fibrinolytics are :
  • streptokinase
  • alteplase
  • reteplase
  • tenecteplase
