Franekeradeel (population: 20,745) is a municipality in the northern Netherlands, in the province of Friesland. The municipality covers an area of 102.71 km² (of which 1.53 km² water).
The municipality of Franekeradeel consists the following towns, villages and townships: Achlum, Boer, Dongjum, Firdgum, Franeker, Herbaijum, Hitzum, Klooster-Lidlum, Oosterbierum, Peins, Pietersbierum, Ried, Schalsum, Sexbierum, Tzum, Tzummarum, Zweins.
