Gangetic Plains
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

The Gangetic Plains are the part of the Ganges River (or River Ganga) that flows across the North Indian plains.

The river Ganga has been depositing alluvial soil in these plains for ages. As a result of this the Gangetic Plains are one of the most fertile agricultral plains of the world.

The Gangetic Plains are also know as the food bowl of India.
