Gemer (in Latin: Gömörinum, in German also: Gömör, in Hungarian: Gömör) is the name of a historic administrative county in southern Slovakia from a time when Slovakia was part of Hungary. Today only an informal designation of the corresponding territory. Situated in Slovenské rudohorie approximately between the Slovak-Hungarian border, the towns Poltár and Rožňava and the Low Tatras (Nízke Tatry).
