Gensomaden Saiyuki, literally translated, means "Journey to the Extreme". It is a popular manga series created by Minekura Kazuya loosely based on the famous Chinese novel Hsi Yu Chi (meaning "Journey to the West"). It has been turned into an anime series as well, although the storyline is not yet complete.
Gensomaden Saiyuki is basically about the journey of four characters - Genjo Sanzo, Sha Gojyo, Cho Hakkai and Son Goku - to the west and their adventures along the way.
