Georgi Maksimilianovich Malenkov (Георги Максимилянович Маленков) (1902– January 14 1988) was a politician in the Soviet Union. In 1946 he became a full member of the Politburo and suceeded Stalin as Premier in 1953. He was also temporarily first secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union until he was replaced by Nikita Khrushchev.
He was forced to resign in February 1955, removed from all positions in 1957 and expelled from the Communist Party in 1961.
