There are three species of wading birds in the plover family called Golden Plover. They are
- FAMILY CHARADRIIDAE
- Subfamily Vanellinae: lapwings, 24 species
- Subfamily Charadriinae: plovers
- Eurasian Golden Plover, Pluvialis apricaria
- Pacific Golden Plover, Pluvialis fulva
- American Golden Plover, Pluvialis dominica
