The Grammy Award for Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance was given out only in 1988, 1992, and 1994, in lieu of the Best Male Rock Vocal Performance and Best Female Rock Vocal Performance. Years reflect the year in which the Grammy Awards were handed out, for music released in the previous year.
