Gresham College was founded in 1597 by Sir Thomas Gresham who also founded the Royal Exchange in London. It was located in Gresham Street EC2 from 1842 to 1991 and is now in Barnard's Inn Hall, Holborn EC1. It was an important intellectual centre and hosted the delivery of public lectures on Divinity, Music, Astronomy, Geometry, Physics, Law and Rhetoric. Christopher Wren gave the lectures on Astronomy.
It continues to provide public lectures to this day.
