The haplorhines are the clade comprised of the prosimian tarsiers and all of the true simians: the monkeys and the apes, including humans.
The clade divides first with the Tarsier family Tarsiidae. The remaining clade is the Anthropoidea, which is made up of the infraorders Platyrrhini (the New World monkeys) and Catarrhini (the Old World monkeys, apes, and humans).
