Born in Henryville, Indiana, Harland Sanders was an honorary Kentucky Colonel; he also appeared in many of his company's television commercials. Sanders died at the age of 90 on December 16, 1980, and was buried in his famous white suit and bow tie in the Cave Hill Cemetery, Louisville, Kentucky.
