Heard County is a
county located in the
U.S. State of
Georgia. As of
2000, the population is 11,012. The county's
county seat is
Franklin, Georgia6.
Geography
\nAccording to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 780
km² (301
mi²). 767 km² (296 mi²) of it is land and 13 km² (5 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.68% water.

2000, there are 11,012 people, 4,043 households, and 3,040 families residing in the county. The
population density is 14/km² (37/mi²). There are 4,512 housing units at an average density of 6/km² (15/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 87.48%
