High energy astronomy is the study of astronomical objects at wavelengths associated with high energies. It includes X-ray astronomy, gamma-ray astronomy, and extreme UV astronomy, as well as studies of neutrinos and cosmic rays.

Astronomical objects commonly studied at high energies may include black holes, neutron stars, active galactic nuclei, supernova remnants, Gamma ray burst, and quasars.
