HMS Ceylon, a ship of the Royal Navy, is named after a former British colony Ceylon which is now Sri Lanka.
The first HMS Ceylon was a 32 gun frigate renamed in 1808 and converted to a troopship in 1817, eventually being sold in 1875.
The second HMS Ceylon was a private yacht requisitioned in 1915 and returned to her owners in 1916.
The third HMS Ceylon was a 8000 ton displacement light cruiser commissioned in 1943, which fought in the East Indies in World War II. After further service, she was sold to Peru in 1960 and renamed the Coronel Bolognesi until being decommissioned in 1982.
