In 1993, Cornwall acted as flagship of the Battle of the Atlantic Fleet Review, which was a commemoration of the battle, which took place throughout most of WWII. In 2001, Cornwall was part of the British Task Force that was part of Britain's contribution to the invasion of Afghanistan. In 2002, duing the Queen's Golden Jubilee, Cornwall performed a 21-gun salute, after a day of events involving the armed forces of Britain, in honour of Her Majesty The Queen.
In 2003, Cornwall was involved in the War on Terrorism as part of Standing Naval Force Atlantic. She returned to Britain later that year. She is the lead ship of the 2nd Frigate Squadron based at Devonport Dockyard, the largest naval base in Western Europe.
