Hydromorphone is a drug used to relieve moderate to severe pain. It belongs to a category of drugs known as opioid analgesics. It is commonly given to patents who have recently undergone surgery or who have suffered serious injury, and it is given intravenously, intramuscularly, or orally.
In the UK listed as a Class A drug under the 1971 Misuse of Drugs Act.
