Dr. Ian Stevenson is a researcher at The Division of Personality Studies (DOPS) at the University of Virginia. He is best known for collecting and meticulously researching cases of children who seem to recall past lives (spontaneously, that is, without the need for hypnosis), thereby providing some of the best available evidence suggestive of reincarnation.
