Iceland is a chain of supermarkets in the United Kingdom and Ireland specialising in frozen food. It is owned by The Big Food Group plc. It has 760 stores (Iceland website, 8 January 2004). The first store was founded in Oswestry in 1970 to sell loose frozen food.
